The Canal Road Film Centre (CRFC) is an innovative concept initiated by a group of tenants of the former Public Works Depot located in Canal Road, Leichhardt.

This site has been home to specialist Film Industry related businesses for some 22 years and in 1998 a representative body of tenants entered into negotiations with the State Government leading to the formal handing over of the site and the signing of a long-term lease agreement in July 2001.

The CRFC vision is for an umbrella community where there is a shared recognition of the value and diversity of the small businesses contributing to and working in all areas of Film & Television.
